Kay would like to introduce you to her Black and White collection using the medium of pen and ink. It is derived from her inspiration and love of trees and architecture. The work is minutely detailed draughtsmanship, using her rigorous eye for detail.
Kay Boyce's passion for art began as a child when she would spend hours drawing on the backs of rolls of wallpaper.
Kay studied illustration at Wrexham College and her career began as a Freelance Illustrator producing editorial work for Women's Weekly, the Sunday Express and Woman's Own, and then on to major book publishers such as Mills and Boon.
Kay is now a top published artist in her own right with publishers such as Solomen and Whitehead. She has been a finalist for Best Published UK Artist four times over.; moreover, she achieved a place in the Top Ten Living Artist list in 2004 and 2005. Her work continues to be exhibited in prestigious galleries throughout the UK
Kay's career and work has rightly established her as a leading figurative artist in the Art World .
Kay's vocation as a figurative artist has seen her career flourish with an instantly recognisable style in her magnificent oils, pastels and pencil drawings.
Her love of antique clothes and fabrics, contemporary dance and ballet is reflected in the delicate, detailed artistry of her work . Her style appeals to both men and women alike and her artwork graces a number of private collections.
